Next week in Year 3

Week beginning 9th March

English: Narrative

We will be looking at the story of Ra and thinking about how to describe characters and settings from Egyptian mythology.

Reading

Please support your child on their reading journey by listening to them read their school book as much as possible, and by sharing other books - whether its cuddling up for a bedtime story, listening to an audio book on a car journey or discussing favourite authors over tea.

The children's reading books will be collected in on Wednesday and sent home on Thursdays. However, please ensure that these are in school EVERY DAY as they may be asked to read to an adult at any time.

Our class reading book is 'Cinderella of the Nile'

Spelling

There will not be any spelling this week

Mrs Granville and Mrs Hill's group: Stage 1, step 18 - ea making a short 'e' sound

Mrs Statham's group: Stage 2, step 18 - challenge words

Mrs Henderson and Mrs Awoyomi's group: Stage 3, step 18 - challenge words

The overview of the different steps, and examples of words for each, can be found under the 'spellings' tab. We would like the children to work on these rules at home each week.
