Next week in Year 3
Week beginning 11th May
English: Instructions
We will be analysing examples of instructions and identifying the features of this genre. We will then be writing a set of instructions 'How to pass safely through Duat'
Reading
Please support your child on their reading journey by listening to them read their school book as much as possible, and by sharing other books - whether its cuddling up for a bedtime story, listening to an audio book on a car journey or discussing favourite authors over tea.
The children's reading books will be collected in on Wednesday and sent home on Thursdays. However, please ensure that these are in school EVERY DAY as they may be asked to read to an adult at any time.
Our class reading book is 'Elizabeth and the Box of Colours' by Katherine Woodfine
Spelling
Mrs Granville and Mrs Hill's group: Stage 1, step 24 - oe and oa
Mrs Statham's group: Stage 2, step 24 - challenge words

The overview of the different steps, and examples of words for each, can be found under the 'spellings' tab. We would like the children to work on these rules at home each week. There are examples of activities in the spelling section and games are also set in 'Spelling Shed' which the children can access using their user name and password. These are set every Monday and run until Sunday evening.
