In Year 2 we continue with Little Wandle Reading sessions and need your support with reading at home with your child. Please read, daily, with your child. Little and often is more effective than once a week extended reading sessions. The children need to bring their reading folders with reading books & reading record to school on Tuesdays. They will be sent home on Thursdays. Here are a couple of useful list of recommended Year 2 reads.

The Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE) has a YouTube Channel - Reading Books Aloud. Here you will find a number of authors reading their own books.
They also have videos and information to support you reading books conversationally and creatively to your children.
Virtual School Library - Every week a popular children's author or illustrator will provide you with free books, exclusive videos and their top three recommended reads.
Oxford Owl has a selection of additional book scheme ebooks, these are not Little Wandle books but are good for extra reading opportunities.
