Week 13 in Class R

Class: Reception Year: 2022 - 2023

Good afternoon everyone!

Not too many photos, as we’ve been busy rehearsing the play and practising the songs. We performed the play on Thursday to Preschool, Happy Days and KS1. The children did a brilliant job with clear voices and great singing, and we are really looking forward to you seeing it next week.

In Maths, we have looked at different shapes. We have learnt that we can find shapes within shapes and practised cutting up shapes into different ones and trying to put them back together again. In Phonics, we have been doing our assessments. The children have come on really well. On Friday, you will find a copy of their assessment in their bags so that you are able to see which sounds in particular they are struggling with. We will reset their ebooks to align them with their new phonics level.

There is no show and tell this week, but we will let you know when the next round is starting for after half term.

We have enjoyed some Chirstmas craft this week and will be working on lots more over the next week, ready to come home next week.

Next week, we will have a visit from Santa. We haven't told the children yet, but we hope his sleigh will be passing through on Thursday. On Wednesday, we have our Christmas lunch in school and to end the week, Friday is our Christmas party day!

Enjoy your weekend- hope the elves don’t get up to too much mischief!
