Friday 15th is the last day of term. School opens again on Monday 25th February.

* No homework for Year 2 over half term -

However; during half term, it would be great if you could encourage your child to take part in our Readathon. All money raised will go towards buying new books for every classroom.

Please ask if you wish to know any further details about the Readathon.

Week beginning: Monday 28th February

  • Both classes will have outdoor games on Tuesday (weather permitting) and Class 2a will have indoor games (gymnastics) on Wednesday.

  • In Maths this week, the children will begin statistics - Tally Charts and Pictograms
  • In English, the children will begin to look at the story 'The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig'. They will be sequencing the events in the story and planning their own version of the story.
  • The children will continue using Scratch and learning new skills - Say something and change colour. There is a link to scratch on our computing page.
  • We are continuing with our WWII topic - We will be discussing how rationing affected people's lives.
  • RE is for Class 2 with Mrs Collis on Wednesday.  The children will be learning about Christianity in RE this half term.
  • In Music, we will be looking at music for Propaganda - 'White Cliffs of Dover' and 'In the Mood'. The children will be singing.

  • Please send coats in to school with the children every day; they will be outside for playtimes unless it is raining heavily.

  • Can you please help your child to practise their weekly spellings, really thinking about the rule. Encourage them to think of extra words which follow the rule.

  • The children enjoyed the hour of code maze, click on the picture to play at home.

  • Please encourage the children to continue to play on Times Tables Rockstars.  All children are set to practise the 10 times table initially and once the children are accurate and quick enough the website automatically introduces extra multiplication and linked division facts. We hope the children enjoy practising their times tables using Times Tables Rockstars.

  • Click on the picture below to practise touch typing at home.

  • The children will need their indoor PE kits on a Wednesday and outdoor kits on a Friday.  In Year 2, the children need an indoor kit (pumps, shorts and house coloured t-shirt) and an outdoor kit (trainers, jogging bottoms and jumper).
